Private Training

If you’re new to shooting, this is a great place to start. Private training gives you the most time for your money to work on your specific needs. You can ask specific questions and get training tailored to your needs. Private training is also ideal for individuals wanting to gain proficiency in a particular skill, like drawing from a holster, for example.

Okay, so you wanna sign up but what do you need to know? I’m glad you asked! Private Training is offered in one-hour time blocks. Your time is valuable, and you shouldn't have to pay to watch someone else learn. For that reason, private sessions are booked for one individual, as the standard. Are you nervous to come alone, want a friend for moral support, or to take photos of you looking awesome? We get it. Feel free to bring one “support companion” over the age of 16, (humans only), but please note that they will be sitting on the sidelines. This is your time to shoot, not their’s. Couples, or two-person private training sessions may be booked for an additional fee. Successive time slots may also be booked if additional time is desired. Please contact us ahead of time for more details!

The Details

What do I Bring?

Bring with you your firearm, eye protection, ear protection, ammo, and whatever else you’d like to work with (your holster, extra batteries for your red dot, etc.). Private lessons aren’t restricted to pistols either! Bring your rifle, shotgun, whatever you have, and I’ll work with it! Have only some of these things? Or none of them? No problem! We understand that some people are completely new to shooting. I will absolutely work with you. Just leave us specific comments when you book your session so I can come prepared to give you an awesome class. Ammo is available for purchase at every class. Currently only 9mm is available.

What do I Wear?

Dress comfortably but no open-toed shoes, low-cut tops, spaghetti straps, skirts or dresses. We know you want to look cute but seriously, brass burns are no joke! Closed toed shoes, pants or shorts, and a shirt that covers the collar bone are required, along with any seasonally appropriate clothing as classes are held outside. There is a covered awning where you can place your equipment.

What should I Expect?

Your session begins on time. Please arrive a few minutes early to complete waivers. Upon arrival, you’ll meet with your instructor, Ray, and the rest of the time is entirely up to you. Explain to him what you’d like to work on and your goals, and he will talk you through the basic principles, demonstrating, when appropriate, and work through it with you. Throughout the lesson you’re encouraged to ask questions and Ray will answer them to the best of his knowledge and provide you with feedback. Don’t worry, he’s not going to grade you! It is important, though, that you receive feedback so that you can improve. You will be given an objective way to gauge your progress depending upon the skill you are developing. This is important to track your progress both for the lesson and your own practice moving forward.

Working with firearms is a lot of fun but is also a very serious matter. Please be respectful. Do not under any circumstance come to the range under the influence of alcohol or any drugs-legal or illegal. You may bring non-alcoholic beverages and a light snack if needed. Disrespectful behavior or rowdy behavior of any kind will not be tolerated, and you will promptly be asked to leave, forfeiting a refund. We understand that things happen, and plans change. We kindly ask you to notify us at least 48 hours in advance of your class for a full refund or to reschedule. Please check the weather forecast in advance. Classes will not be automatically cancelled due to weather, unless it is a matter of safety. I.E. thunderstorms, tornado advisory, hurricanes. But if it’s rainin’, we’re still trainin’! Cancellations made within 48 hours may incur a fee and no shows will forfeit the opportunity for a refund.
