Who We Are
Patchwork Training is owned and operated by Raymond and Briana Patch. Raymond is a USCCA certified instructor. Ray grew up shooting from a young age, but it wasn’t just a hobby, it was a family pastime. From military and law enforcement to competition backgrounds throughout his family, Ray stood on the shoulders of giants. He began his teaching career at Shoot Center in Cape Coral, FL. There he discovered his love for, and gift of, teaching and began to create his own curriculum. Over the years of working at Shoot Center, he regularly worked to improve his teaching techniques to cater to a diverse population of students with a wide range of experience. He found a love for teaching anyone who was happy to learn. Today, he continues to provide instruction to all levels, helping to build a foundation that can last them a lifetime. Wherever your starting point is, whether you’ve never touched a gun before or you’ve been shooting for years, we want to help you improve. After getting married and moving to the East Coast of Florida, Ray further refined his shooting skills by attending the Sig Sauer Academy’s Pistol Instructor Course. His wife, Briana, is a pharmacist and has always had a passion for firearms, and a mind for business and finance. She is happy to run the day-to-day operations while Ray does all the "hard work" in the spotlight. Together they have one son and two fur babies (a dog and cat). It is the goal and mission of Patchwork Training to meet students where they are and to give them tools and resources to become more capable, competent, and confident gun owners. In other words, our mission is to empower YOU. We want you to feel confident in your ability to shoot, whether it's for sport or self-defense. Ray is approachable and non-judgmental, something you don't always find in the gun industry. We are confident you will not only learn something new, but you’ll also enjoy shooting as much as we do! Why We’re Here
Patchwork Training exists for the people who want to be better. Better shooters. Better citizens. Better people. You won’t find classes with: ”tactical” in the name. We’re not here to make ourselves look cool. Our goal is to provide you with the information and skills necessary to help you reach your specific, measurable goals. We’re here to give you the tools to become better at a craft that we love and that matters to us. If you are new to shooting, welcome to the community. If you’re not new to firearms, we want to expand your limits, finding ways to improve your performance, and help you become a better shooter. We’re not just trying to teach you drills, but to teach you how to learn. If you learn something helpful at one of our classes, that is great, but if you learn how to diagnose your own mistakes and correct them, then we’ve truly helped you move forward, and that is our goal.
